The coin on the left celebrates the Year of the Rat featuring a clever rat surrounded by lucky lychee. The coin on the right celebrates the start of the 12 year lunar cycle, the coin depicting all 12 lunar animals and the Chinese symbol Fu meaning luck and happiness. It is Chinese New Year tradition to exchange coins as gifts of good fortune.
