Round badge with cross shaped centre measuring 30mm x 33mm with suspension at bottom for bars. Issued for the South Australian School Patriotic Fund in World War 1. Gilt metal with blue enamel circle and red enamel cross. The legends read “S.A. CHILDREN’S PATRIOTIC” fund around the blue border. The cross legend reads “WAR SERVICE”. Badge a bit grubby but the enamel is mostly all present. Reverse with intact pin and marked by the maker “STOKES & SONS MELBOURNE”. A scarce badge in this condition.
