A superb example of a low mintage key date 5 cent. For the varieties collector this is the scarcer low echidna (not noted on the holder).
Read Dr Peter Andrews article about the different echidnas or find more information about 5 cent die varieties published in the Australasian Coin and Banknote Magazine October 2016 (Volume 19 Number 9). In this article Dr Andrews suggests the low echidna makes up roughly 20% of the 1972 5c mintage.
