Bryan money was issued as part of the 1896 and 1900 presidential campaigns of William Jennings Bryan.
This one reads “IN BRYAN WE TRUST” and “UNITED SNAKES OF AMERICA” on the obverse. The reverse reads “FREE SILVER” and “ONE DAM”.
This coin is ex Stacks-Bowers 2019 Baltimore auction as lot 4032 when it realised US$432 plus 20% commission. Before that it was part of the Newmark Collection and even earlier from The Coin Galleries sale of November 1986 where it was lot 1594.
