In June 1971 soldiers of the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, assaulted a concealed bunker complex in South Vietnam’s Long Khanh Province. Three soldiers died in combat, with five wounded. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of ‘Operation Overlord’ and the Battle of Long Khanh the Royal Australian Mint has released an uncirculated copper nickel 50c in card with the coin’s reverse featuring a dynamic battle scene, including Australian soldiers in combat, a Centurion tank and Iroquois helicopter
