Royal Australian Mint - Proof Sets

Each year since 1966 (excepting 1967 and 1968) the Royal Australian Mint has released a proof set containing proof examples of Australia’s circulating coinage. Proof coins are manufactured using a different technique to that of normal coins. They are made from special blanks using specially prepared and polished dies, are struck multiple times to ensure fullness of strike, and are made by hand by specially trained staff.
